Ep 14: Alyson Kirk: Fine is NOT Fine

This interview caught me completely by surprise. Alyson was recommended as a guest and when I researched her, I saw this incredible outdoor-conquerer-fearless woman who tackled big goals. She’s done over 10, 100-mile running races (aka ultras) in addition to climbing all the 12ers, 13ers, and 14ers in Colorado … Little did I know that her background, and her addictions, were the foundation of her early life before she made some massive changes. And in the midst of her climbing pursuits, she gets stuck in a really dire situation - one that almost cost her her life.

The thing that struck me most is Alyson’s comment about being “fine.” How many of us settle for a life that is “fine?” … The changes she made in her life -are changes we all have the power to make in our own.

...you don’t have to almost die to listen to your gut and to not go through with things that you know you shouldn’t. It took something that profound for me to make such big changes when I knew it was the right thing from the beginning.
